Tour

Arrive in time to marvel at the more than 700 half-timbered houses and the Weser Renaissance town hall.

You cycle past the former Benedictine monastery of Bursfelde and Oberweser with its open-air mill museum, which is well worth seeing. Marvel at the historic town hall from 1715, which used to be a packing and warehouse, and treat yourself to an ice cream or a piece of cake. Through the outskirts of the Solling, the second largest contiguous forest area in Northern Germany, you cycle quickly past Fürstenberg Castle to Höxter, where the UNESCO World Heritage Site Corvey Castle invites you to visit.

Take a little detour today and look forward to a special cultural highlight: Bevern Castle - one of the most magnificent buildings of the Weser Renaissance. After 2.5 km you have reached the banks of the Weser again. On the Weser cycle path you cycle to the city of the Baron of Lies from Münchhausen to Bodenwerder with its historic old town. After a short break you finally cycle to Hameln. Let yourself be enchanted and captured by the medieval atmosphere of the pied piper town of Hameln. The Pied Piper of Hameln, which appeared in 1284, has been the symbol of the city of Hameln and world-famous for centuries.

Saying goodbye to Hameln is difficult, but new cities and places want to be discovered. You cycle past Hessisch Oldendorf with the remarkable Fischbeck Abbey to Rinteln. Look forward to a charming Weser Renaissance old town, the old harbor and the historic steam train. The valley near Porta Westfalica then becomes very narrow, where the Weser (and all cycling enthusiasts) squeeze through the Wiehen and Weser mountains. Many interesting museums (coffee museum, Prussian museum, button museum, doll museum), nice cafes or a boat trip over the waterway cross await you in Minden in the afternoon.

From today the landscape will change, because you will be released into the north German lowlands. In the flat you roll over the Weser cycle path to Petershagen. Marvel at Petershagen Castle, today's romantic hotel proudly presents itself directly at the Weser. Romance still surrounds this place. Be amazed at the renovated town center in Stolzenau before you arrive in Nienburg. Explore the old town of Nienburg in a different way and follow a bear track that leads to the historical sights.

Past the earls castle in Hoya you cycle through small villages with brick-red houses to the equestrian and horse town of Verden. Wide views over the flat country, meadows like green carpets, windmills and isolated farms create new photo opportunities. Look forward to the over 1000 year old city of Verden at the confluence of the Aller and Weser rivers. Stroll through the pretty old town, visit the famous horse museum or take a small boat tour.

Today you cycle past the stork care station towards Bremen. You may be greeted by the Bremen Town Musicians from afar, but you should definitely see the bronze sculpture at the town hall. The town hall and the Roland statue alone, UNESCO World Heritage Sites since July 2, 2004, are worth the trip. The next landmark of the Hanseatic city is just around the corner: the town musicians, known worldwide and also valued as a lucky charm. Simply touch both of the donkey's front hooves and make a wish! Maybe it works. You can also stroll through the "Schnoor", Bremen's oldest quarter with many narrow streets and about 100 small houses.

Today your beautiful Weser trip ends in Bremen after breakfast at the hotel. You can simply leave your rental bikes at the hotel and set off on your journey home without a care in the world. If you would like to return to your starting hotel in Hann. Münden, we recommend our practical return transfer service including bike transport.

Condition of cycle paths
The Weser bike trail is one of the best cycle routes in Europe. In surveys conducted by the Allgemeiner Deutscher fahrrad-Club (ADfC - General German Cycling Club), the Weser cycle path has become the most popular cycling route in Germany! Most of the time the bike trail runs parallel to the Weser waterway: especially between Hann.Münden and Rinteln it makes the special charm of this bicycle route. Large sections of the Weser bike track are well developed, paved bike trails, farm roads, or at least roads with separate routing paths. Occasionally short sections lead over country roads with less traffic. There are hardly any sections where you have to drive on unsurfaced roads. Often there are bike trails along both the banks of the Weser River. Especially between Hann.Münden and Werder you can pick the site and take the ferry to switch banks. However, the official Weserradweg bike route leads only on one side of the river.

Transfer back to the starting point of the journey
Daily at 3pm there is the possibility to transfer back to Hann.Münden with a small bus (with bike trailer). The driver comes to pick you up at your hotel and has much room for you, your luggage and where required your own bicycle. The bus takes you back to your first hotel (arrival approx. 6pm), thus ensuring a perfect return service without transfer and the hassle of hauling luggage. If you bring your own bicycles, an additional will be charged.

Extra costs which are not included in the price
Any tourist tax and charging fees for bicycle batteries are not included in the tour price and must therefore be paid at the hotel.
