As a nature lover, you can look forward to the so sparsely populated landscape from Frankfurt/Oder to the Baltic Sea. It is especially beautiful that the Oder-Neisse cycle path leads through the middle of the charming Oderbruch. Shortly after Schwedt, however, the Oder says goodbye, flowing into Poland from here on. You can now look forward to Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and the Oderhaff. You will be immersed in a slightly hilly, densely wooded landscape. On beautiful bike paths and small roads you will quietly reach the pretty town of Ueckermünde on the Szczecin Lagoon. With a small ferry you will cross over to Usedom and enjoy the beautiful island with its famous seaside resorts.

This trip is perfect for:

  • History enthusiasts: There are numerous historic towns along the North Sea coast.
  • Undecided travellers: Don't just decide on one destination, take a look at two and cycle along the German-Polish border.
  • Nature lovers: You'll get your money's worth on this tour.

Highlights

Frankfurt Oder

Tour

Arrive early to have some time for Frankfurt on the Oder. Visit something special in the heart of the city, St. Mary's Church. Marvel at the largest hall church in North German brick Gothic and admire the medieval three choir windows with the restored biblical stained glass windows brought back from St. Petersburg in 2002.

Just north of Frankfurt, you will drive over the Lubusz Heights, from where you will have wonderful views over the Oder Valley. Marvel at the last Bock windmill in Brandenburg in the landscape of the Oder Valley, which was drained 250 years ago. If you want to shorten today's stage a bit, you can take the train for the first kilometers to Küstrin.

In Küstrin, the overgrown ruins of the former old town, completely destroyed in 1945, leave a deep impression and enjoy the remaining kilometers comfortably on your bike.

Today you should plan a side trip to the ship lift Niederfinow, an impressive technical masterpiece from the last century that is still in operation. In the afternoon you cycle through the Lower Oder Valley National Park. The visitor center is well worth a visit, where you will get an impression of the rich flora and fauna on and in the Oder River.

Today it is time to say goodbye to the Oder River, which continues to flow on Polish territory shortly after Mescherin. The route continues through hilly countryside to Penkun with its late Renaissance castle in a picturesque lakeside location. Passing Krackow with its carriage museum you cycle to the 1000 year old oak tree in Löcknitz.

Through the Ueckermünde Heath and along the Neuwarper Lake you cycle towards the Szczecin Lagoon. You can look forward to Ueckermünde with its interesting town center, St. Mary's Church, the harbor and the Pomeranian Castle! A beautiful bike path leads from Ueckermünde harbor directly to the sandy beach, so that nothing stands in the way of a swim at the end of the trip!

Early in the morning you will take the ferry to Karnin on Usedom and continue on beautiful bike paths to the coast. Enjoy sun, beach and sea on the vacation island of Usedom. You will spend the last night of your bike tour in one of the imperial resorts on the island Usedom in Bansin, Heringsdorf or Ahlbeck.

Look forward to a beautiful day on Usedom. The wonderful beach and the beach promenade want to be enjoyed. If you like, you can make an excursion on the slightly undulating and varied cycle path along the coast in the direction of Peenemünde. In between, you can always take a break for a swim or stop for a bite to eat in a quaint little fish stall (snack bar).

Today your beautiful bike tour ends after breakfast at your hotel on Usedom. We are happy to book you additional nights on the vacation island.
