Cochem Imperial Castle
The Imperial Castle was probably built around 900. It rises more than 100m above the Moselle on a striking cone with its incomparable outline.

Eltz Castle

Deutsches Eck Koblenz
The German Corner is a headland where the Moselle flows into the Rhine in Koblenz.

Boating on the Moselle
From its source at the Col de Bussang in the Vosges mountains to its mouth at the Deutsches Eck in Koblenz, the Moselle covers a total distance of 520 kilometers - the distance as the crow flies between the source and the mouth is only 278 kilometers - and overcomes a gradient of 676 meters in altitude. A boat trip on the Moselle is a relaxing way to shorten a longer day's stage and enjoy the beauty of the landscape from a different perspective.

Tour

Individual arrival to Trier. There is plenty to see, you should take your time for the visit of the historical centre, the Kaiserthermen (imperial thermal baths) and the Porta Nigra.

You leave Germanys oldest town and cycle along the Moselle, where the old ferry tower of Schweich is located. Marvel at the small wine-growing village Mehring with the famous Villa Rustica, a ruin, that was a magnificent country house in Roman times. In the afternoon you reach Trittenheim. Today we recommend a wine tasting.

After a few kilometers you reach Neumagen-Dhron, the oldest wine-growing town in Germany. Admire the relief of the old Roman ship, before you continue your bike ride over the winding cycle path. You can enjoy lunch on the market square of Bernkastel-Kues. You will be amazed by the colorful workmanship and the many small streets. You quickly reach the destination of today's cycling stage, the famous and traditional Moselle wine town Zeltingen-Rachtig. With around 171 hectares of vineyards and the world-famous vineyards of Zeltinger Himmelreich, Schlossberg, Sonnenuhr and Deutschherrenberg, the town belongs to the large and well-known wine-growing communities on the Mittelmosel.

You cycle through the wine growing area Kröver Nacktarsch to Traben-Trarbach. Complete today´s program with a boat tour on the Moselle. After a break in Enkirch, the role model of framework architecture, you reach Zell.

Today you cycle via Beilstein, the Rothenburg at the Moselle to Cochem. Leave the bike path and visit the picturesque center and the old Reichsburg (11th century). This is really worth it! Take the time to visit the castle, because the last 12 km of your bike ride to the hotel in Treis-Karden are easy to get around.

In the morning, you can take an excursion (4 km) to the medieval Eltz Castle, one of the most beautiful and best preserved castles in Germany. Wonderful, romantically situated and embedded in an original nature, it acts like a fairytale castle, inviting and majestic at the same time. Take part in an informal castle tour, discover the treasure chamber and enjoy the magnificent view. Afterwards you cycle back to the Moselle cycle path. Which once again proudly presents typical Moselle wine regions such as Kobern-Gondorf and Winningen. In Koblenz at the "Deutsches Eck" the Moselle flows into the Rhine. You spend the last evening of your bike trip at the Mosel and the Rhine.

After breakfast your cycle holiday ends in Koblenz. We recommend our back transfer to Trier (departure 9 am, duration about 2 hours - please book in advance).
