Tour
After your arrival, you should explore Constance: the historic old town, the cathedral and the council building, where the only church council north of the Alps took place between 1414 and 1418. You also have the opportunity to visit the Sea Life Centre or the Archaeological State Museum. Relax and get in the mood for your cycle tour in one of the numerous restaurants or pubs.
Today you set off on your bikes and make your way along the Untersee through picturesque fishing villages to the beautiful medieval town of Stein am Rhein, overlooked by the imposing Hohenklingen Castle. Stroll through the old town with its frescoed houses, old town gates and historic alleyways and visit the Lindwurm Museum. Stein am Rhein was rightly nicknamed the "Rothenburg of the High Rhine". You then cycle around the Höri peninsula and reach Radolfzell, which has developed from a modest fishing and wine-growing settlement into a place of pilgrimage and a desirable tourist centre on Untersee.
Today you cycle over the Bodanrück and past the beautiful Mindelsee lake via Bodman and on to Ludwigshafen. From here, the route continues along the northern shore of Lake Constance, which offers you not only magnificent views but also numerous historical sights: historic monasteries, imperial towns, baroque churches and old castles. You should plan a break in Überlingen with its wonderful lakeside promenade and Unteruhldingen with its pile-dwelling museum. Then it's a relaxed trip via Meersburg with its narrow streets and historic castle to the Zeppelin city of Friedrichshafen.
After leaving Friedrichshafen, you cycle through pretty villages to the Bavarian metropolis of Lindau on Lake Constance. Once there, be sure to visit the historic old town on the island, marvel at the beautiful lakeside promenade and the lighthouse and Bavarian lion at the harbour entrance. Then get back on your bike and cross the border into Austria almost unnoticed to reach Bregenz with its spectacular viewing platform. Take the cable car up to the Pfänder and enjoy the fantastic view of Lake Constance and the Alps.
The canton of Thrugau in Switzerland is on the programme for your last day of cycling. Small villages with the typical beautiful half-timbered houses and huge orchards await you there. If you want more time in Constance, you can shorten the route individually by train. Back in Constance, enjoy your last evening there and stroll through the alleyways once again, visit one of the numerous museums and let your trip sink in with a relaxed dinner in one of the restaurants by the lake or in the old town.
After breakfast, your deluxe cruise around Lake Constance ends with many wonderful impressions and experiences.
