Tour
Enjoy the distinctive charm of the Hansestadt Stralsund and the harbor atmosphere. Discover the secrets of the oceans, the 2010 European Museum of the Year, and admire the Stralsund town hall, one of the most beautiful profane buildings of the north German bakingsteer.
Look forward to Hiddensee, there is plenty to discover, historic buildings, impressive landscapes and the widely visible lighthouse. Visit the former dwelling-house of one of the most important poets, Gerhart Hauptmann, which now houses an interesting museum. Let yourself be driven on the almost car-free paths of the only 19 km² small island to endless sandy beaches, steep cliffs, through clear forest and colorful heath. Let yourself be fascinated by the nature, wide salt meadows, moorish reed thicket, dikes, dunes, ponds and reet-covered villages. In the afternoon, the ferry will take you to Nordrügen, where you can take a short bike ride to Cape Arkona. Overnight stay in Trent, Bohlendorf, Wiek, Breege, Juliusruh or surroundings
Enjoy the beautiful cycling stage on the narrow, pine-lined piece of land between the Baltic Sea and the Bodden. Look forward to the national park "Königsstuhle", the famous chalk cliffs and cycle through the vast old beech forests that have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2011. Visit the national park center with 2000 square meters of exhibition space and 28,000 square meters of outdoor space, certainly a very special experience. Over the old ferry port Sassnitz and Mukran you cycle in the middle of the island to Bergen. If you want, take a trip to the mundane seaside resort of Binz with a wonderful kilometer-long sandy beach and a magnificent promenade. Overnight stay in Bergen / surroundings.
Putbus, the white city and cultural capital of the island is looking forward to your visit. Stroll through the Putbus Market, the Marstall, the Orangerie and visit the ca. 75 ha Putbus Park with its game reserve and the artificial island. Through Southern Ruegen you will then cycle to the Glewitzer Ferry, which takes you back to the mainland. On a shady avenue and a little busy country road, you will be able to quickly walk to the Hansestadt Greifswald with its colorful gabled houses and baroque town hall. Overnight stay in Greifswald / surroundings.
Today you travel by train to Anklam at Peenehaff. Along the river Peene you cycle to the island of Usedom. Discover the quiet hinterland of the island, return to the Mellenthin water castle and taste the self-brewed beer before you reach the wonderful long white sand beaches of the imperial baths. Stroll comfortably over the promenade, let the wind blow on the long bridges around the nose and jump into the cool water.
The imperial baths, with their unique spa architecture, will be explored by you today. With its columns and towers, the magnificent villas look like from sugar-cake. The seaside resorts of Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf and Bansin proudly present their beauty, luxury and exclusivity. Like pearls of a chain, the extravagant summer domains of the Berlin High Society of the late 19th and early 20th century are the longest promenade in Europe. What a wonderful cycling day. Along the steep coast, always close to the sandy beaches, you cycle on a separate bike path in the easy up and down through the coastal forest to the north of the island. Overnight stay in Wolgast, Karlshagen, Zinnowitz or surroundings.
In the morning you leave Usedom and then cycle along small paths and quiet streets to the Hansestadt Greifswald, one of the most important cities along the European Route of Backsteingotics. Visit the old town harbor, today the largest museum harbor in Germany. Admire the impressive collection of old fishing vehicles and freighters, before the train brings you comfortably back to Stralsund.
After breakfast, we say good-bye to this wonderful holiday region.
