Tour
Arrive early, Bolzano is worth it! Your hotel with charm, the 4-star Parkhotel Laurin was built as early as 1910 and is undoubtedly the first hotel on the square. The hotel perfectly masters the balancing act between tradition and modernity. The rooms are comfortable and elegant, the public areas sophisticated. Just a short walk and you are in the middle of Bolzano's cosy arcades, the fruit market and Waltherplatz square with its Italian flair. And if you have time, visit "Ötzi" in the archaeology museum.
Today you cycle through orchards and mostly directly along the Adige on well-developed causeways to the center of Trento with its attractive old town and the famous Piazza Duomo. Look forward to the 4-star Hotel Accademia, the former monastery from the 15th century was converted into a very nice hotel. The unique mix of modern furniture and historical architecture radiates a special atmosphere. In fine weather, breakfast is served in the former cloister.
Cycle along the Adige cycle path via Rovereto to Mori. In Mori, you can sample the famous pistachio ice cream in the Gelateria Bologna. On the separately guided cycle path, you master the small San Giovanni Pass and are rewarded with a marvellous view of Lake Garda. Look forward to a beautiful boat trip across the lake to the southern shore. Today you will spend the night at the 4-star Hotel Lido International in Desenzano. The hotel is particularly notable for its impressive location, as the historic centre is just a few minutes' walk away. Your rooms have a view of the lake and you can cool off in the beautifully designed pool.
Whether flat or slightly hilly, today's cycling stage is characterised by a beautiful landscape. Everything that tastes good is grown along the way: tangy white wines, juicy peaches, sweet melons and even kiwis. But your destination is even more tempting. Verona, a city full of sights: Festival arena, Juliet's house, old city walls. You are now staying at the recently renovated 4-star boutique hotel Indigo Vernoa - Grand Hotel des Arts, which is located in the heart of the city, just a few metres from the Arena di Verona. The stylish rooms are inspired by the art and architecture of Verona and guarantee a comfortable stay. Relax with a refreshing cocktail in the hotel garden.
Initially flat and then through the hills of the "Monti Berici", you cycle towards your wonderful destination. To shorten the stage, you can also cover the first part to San Bonifacio by train. Hardly any other town in Italy was so characterised by just one man. Andrea Palladio, the famous architect and pioneer of classicism, left many buildings worth seeing in Vicenza. Marvel at the Basilica Palladiana, the Teatro Olimpico and the city's magnificent boulevards.
If you want to spend a lot of time in Vicenza, take the train for the first few kilometres to San Bonifacio. The elegant and newly renovated 4-star Hotel Campo Marzio is located directly on the city walls, making it the ideal starting point for easy access to all of Vicenza's sights. Beautiful rooms and particularly attentive staff ensure a comfortable stay.
Numerous Venetian villas lie along your cycle route today. But you cycle on and on to the pretty university town of Padua, the city of St Anthony with its stunning basilica, the old university palace and the Palace of Justice. Stay at the 3-star Hotel Patavium, which is just a short walk from the sights of Padua. Charming rooms, a varied breakfast in the garden and personalised on-site service in this family-run hotel will make your stay something special.
Mostly driven by the light wind, you cycle comfortably towards the sea. The landscape is characterised by meadows and fields. After a small grappa tasting, your destination is the 4-star Parkhotel Ai Pini in Venice/Mestre, the best hotel on the mainland off Venice. The historic building is surrounded by a private park with many flowers. The Baldo family recently had the hotel carefully renovated, creating a wonderful feel-good atmosphere. From Mestre, you have good train and bus connections to the lagoon city.
Much too fast passed the beautiful time. After the breakfast check out and departure or you stay a few days more and discover Venice intensively. Or you can use the transfer back service to Bolzano by minibus (reservation necessary) to have a comfortable way back to Bolzano or you take the train back to Bolzano (3,5 hours) but there's no bike transport.
